Girdhari Keer : Travel to Kausani
Kausani
After spending a whole
day in Ranikhet, now we were ready for my next destination which was Kausani.
Kausani is the small village in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is situated
in the Kumaon region of Bageshwar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India.
Ranikhet and the locations where I had visited were memorable moments for me
and I will never forget those wonderful movements.
Ranikhet was
unexpectedly much more beautiful and pleasant than I thought. But then, my next
journey began and I had already researched the place Kausani on the
Internet.
It was a two hour ride
from Ranikhet which was 60 kilometers far approximately. On the way to Kausani
we stopped at some beautiful and heartwarming places including an agricultural
farm of rice. The view from the higher hills was amazing. I love that feeling
which keeps me excited with greenary. I also take many pictures of those
beautiful and mesmerized places.
Taxi driver told me one
important thing which is really important if you love traveling and drinking.
You will not find any liquor shops in Kausani because there aren't any. There
is a liquor shop 10 kilometers before on the way to Kausani.
I reached Kausani in the
evening before the weather went bad because there were water clouds in the sky.
I checked in a hotel which was also affordable. The location of the hotel was
on the hill with an amazingly beautiful view of the Himalayas. You can see an
exotic view of more than 150 kilometers of greenery and hills from the
Kausani.
Evening walk at
Kausani
After taking shower with
hot water in the hotel I wanted to take a little walk to see the nearby beauty
of the hills. I took a hot coffee at the restaurant of the hotel and then moved
out of the hotel for a walk.
It was a beautiful
evening at the foothills of the Himalayas. If you are lucky and the weather is
clear without fog and clouds then you can get an amazing view of the Himalayas.
I was lucky that day. When I started walking from the hotel, there was fog
outside. I decided to walk towards high mountains because I thought the aerial
view from the higher mountain would be beautiful and heartwarming.
I was right and yet
lucky, the weather at the hilltop near army camp was mesmerizing. The cool air
became cooler and thicker. I can feel the pure and fresh air inside my body. I
stopped at a maggie point at the hilltop and ordered a maggie. Maggie was tasty
and delicious but the atmosphere increased the taste of Maggie even tastier.
Rohit told me that you
can visit Anasakti Ashram in the evening and we would visit the rest of the
attractions in the morning. So, I agreed to rohit and we took a walk towards
Anasakti Ashram because it was very close to the hotel where I
stayed.
Anasakti Ashram
Anasakti Ashram is a
place where the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi stayed in 1929. The Anasakti
Ashram is located at the beautiful place in Kausani. You will find a lot of
books related to Mahatma Gandhi there.
It is a fantastically
beautiful place where you can feel the cool breeze of Kausani at the same place
where Gandhi stayed. In 1929 Mahatma Gandhi and some of his followers came to
see the Himalayas.
But the weather was not
clear, Mahatma Gandhi had to wait for 14 days for a clear vision of the shining
Himalayas. You will see golden color of Himalayas in the morning and evening if
there are no clouds or raining. After 14 days Gandhi had the beautiful view of
Himalayas in the morning time. It was later printed on the 100 rupee bill of
Indian currency.
I have visited the
Anasakti Ashram in the evening but couldn’t see the Himalayas because of low
light. Actually I was visiting Kausani in the month of August when days are
short compared to summer.
After visiting and
exploring everything at the Anasakti Ashram we started to walk towards the
hotel room. Light rain started when we were close to the hotel room, but it
feels amazing. I had dinner at 9.00 o'clock and went to my room for sleep. I
went to sleep early because I wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather of early
morning and also for the shining golden view of the
Himalayas.
Himalayan view in the
morning
I woke up early in the
morning on the next day, ordered tea from my hotel room and took an early bath
with hot water. The hotel was nice and the staff was also caring.
The people from the
Nainital to Kausani region are more cooperative and gentle than the other parts
of India. Kausani has the best morning weather I have ever felt in my whole
trip.
I was walking on the
roadside to the upper hill from the hotel where I stayed. It was amazingly
beautiful weather; I never felt the air and breath thicker than that. That was
the best experience of my life.
I took pictures of
crystal white clouds and the green scenery of the hills. I can forget about the
other things but that walk was the most memorable experience of my entire
life.
I walked back to the
hotel and then moved towards our next destinations.
Here is the list of
attractions which I visited in the Kausani-
Dr Sumitranandan Pant
Museum
The museum is purely
dedicated to Dr. Sumitranandan Pant. He was the most famous literary figure
among the Modern Hindi literature community. He used to live here but after his
death it was converted into a museum.
If you are going to
Kausani then you should visit this museum. In the museum you will explore each
and every detail of the Dr. Sumitranandan Pant.
Dr. Sumitranandan Pant
was also awarded with Padma Bhushan award.
Rudradhari Mahadev
Temple
Rudradhari Mahadev
Temple is located between the lush green forest. The view of the temple and
surrounding was beautiful and Amazing.
Rudradhari Mahadev
Temple is one of the best attractions of Kausani.
STARGATE - Kausani
Observatory
In the STARGATE Kausani
Observatory you can explore the universe in depth with the equipment used by
the professionals. It is a private Observatory and a gateway to the knowledge
of the galaxy.
You can easily explore
the celestial planet or objects like the moon, nebulas, star clusters,
constellations, distant galaxies and many more.
Rudradhari Falls &
Caves
Rudradhari waterfalls
are another heartwarming place to visit in Kausani. It is only 12 kilometers
far from the town Kausani.
When I reached there, I
felt like it was a kind of fairy tale. Natural beauty at it’s best. Lush green
pine forest and waterfalls with caves look really mesmerizing. Caves and
Someshvar Temple can also be visited from the Rudradhari waterfalls.
Baijnath Temple: Perfect
Display Of Glorious Past
Only 16 kilometers far
from the Kausani and in the same district the Baijnath Temple is located within
the group of eight temple clusters. Kausani hills and mountains are beautifully
visible from the temple.
The Baijnath Temple is
an epic example of India's rich architecture and spiritual Approach. The temple
is dedicated to Lord Shiva and built by King Katyuri in 1150 A.D.
Kausani Tea Estate
Kausani Tea Estate is
one of Kausani natural heaven. I clearly remembered the lush green gardens of
tea and the aroma of the gardens. I bet you can't ignore the beauty and
pleasantness of the Kausani.

You can go inside the
garden and take pictures there. If you are an organic tea lover then there is
also a processed tea store in front of the tea Estate garden.
Pinnath: For A Scenic
Trekking
And in the last for the
trekking lovers, there is a trekking location in Kausani. It is situated only 5
kilometers from the main town.
It is best and suitable
for the adventure lovers. I already have experience of trekking but as I told
you in my previous articles I love adventure.
I have already decided
to go trekking, because I have researched about it on the internet.
