Girdhari Keer : Travel to Kausani

Girdhari keer
Girdhari Keer : Travel to Kausani

Kausani
After spending a whole day in Ranikhet, now we were ready for my next destination which was Kausani. Kausani is the small village in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is situated in the Kumaon region of Bageshwar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Ranikhet and the locations where I had visited were memorable moments for me and I will never forget those wonderful movements.

Girdhari keer

Ranikhet was unexpectedly much more beautiful and pleasant than I thought. But then, my next journey began and I had already researched the place Kausani on the Internet.
It was a two hour ride from Ranikhet which was 60 kilometers far approximately. On the way to Kausani we stopped at some beautiful and heartwarming places including an agricultural farm of rice. The view from the higher hills was amazing. I love that feeling which keeps me excited with greenary. I also take many pictures of those beautiful and mesmerized places.
Taxi driver told me one important thing which is really important if you love traveling and drinking. You will not find any liquor shops in Kausani because there aren't any. There is a liquor shop 10 kilometers before on the way to Kausani.
I reached Kausani in the evening before the weather went bad because there were water clouds in the sky. I checked in a hotel which was also affordable. The location of the hotel was on the hill with an amazingly beautiful view of the Himalayas. You can see an exotic view of more than 150 kilometers of greenery and hills from the Kausani.

Evening walk at Kausani
After taking shower with hot water in the hotel I wanted to take a little walk to see the nearby beauty of the hills. I took a hot coffee at the restaurant of the hotel and then moved out of the hotel for a walk.
It was a beautiful evening at the foothills of the Himalayas. If you are lucky and the weather is clear without fog and clouds then you can get an amazing view of the Himalayas. I was lucky that day. When I started walking from the hotel, there was fog outside. I decided to walk towards high mountains because I thought the aerial view from the higher mountain would be beautiful and heartwarming.

I was right and yet lucky, the weather at the hilltop near army camp was mesmerizing. The cool air became cooler and thicker. I can feel the pure and fresh air inside my body. I stopped at a maggie point at the hilltop and ordered a maggie. Maggie was tasty and delicious but the atmosphere increased the taste of Maggie even tastier.
Rohit told me that you can visit Anasakti Ashram in the evening and we would visit the rest of the attractions in the morning. So, I agreed to rohit and we took a walk towards Anasakti Ashram because it was very close to the hotel where I stayed.

Anasakti Ashram
Anasakti Ashram is a place where the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi stayed in 1929. The Anasakti Ashram is located at the beautiful place in Kausani. You will find a lot of books related to Mahatma Gandhi there.

Girdhari keer

It is a fantastically beautiful place where you can feel the cool breeze of Kausani at the same place where Gandhi stayed. In 1929 Mahatma Gandhi and some of his followers came to see the Himalayas.
But the weather was not clear, Mahatma Gandhi had to wait for 14 days for a clear vision of the shining Himalayas. You will see golden color of Himalayas in the morning and evening if there are no clouds or raining. After 14 days Gandhi had the beautiful view of Himalayas in the morning time. It was later printed on the 100 rupee bill of Indian currency.
I have visited the Anasakti Ashram in the evening but couldn’t see the Himalayas because of low light. Actually I was visiting Kausani in the month of August when days are short compared to summer.
After visiting and exploring everything at the Anasakti Ashram we started to walk towards the hotel room. Light rain started when we were close to the hotel room, but it feels amazing. I had dinner at 9.00 o'clock and went to my room for sleep. I went to sleep early because I wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather of early morning and also for the shining golden view of the Himalayas.

Himalayan view in the morning
I woke up early in the morning on the next day, ordered tea from my hotel room and took an early bath with hot water. The hotel was nice and the staff was also caring.
The people from the Nainital to Kausani region are more cooperative and gentle than the other parts of India. Kausani has the best morning weather I have ever felt in my whole trip.
I was walking on the roadside to the upper hill from the hotel where I stayed. It was amazingly beautiful weather; I never felt the air and breath thicker than that. That was the best experience of my life.

Girdhari Keer

I took pictures of crystal white clouds and the green scenery of the hills. I can forget about the other things but that walk was the most memorable experience of my entire life.
I walked back to the hotel and then moved towards our next destinations.
Here is the list of attractions which I visited in the Kausani-

Dr Sumitranandan Pant Museum
The museum is purely dedicated to Dr. Sumitranandan Pant. He was the most famous literary figure among the Modern Hindi literature community. He used to live here but after his death it was converted into a museum.
If you are going to Kausani then you should visit this museum. In the museum you will explore each and every detail of the Dr. Sumitranandan Pant.
Dr. Sumitranandan Pant was also awarded with Padma Bhushan award.

Rudradhari Mahadev Temple
Rudradhari Mahadev Temple is located between the lush green forest. The view of the temple and surrounding was beautiful and Amazing.
Rudradhari Mahadev Temple is one of the best attractions of Kausani.

STARGATE - Kausani Observatory
In the STARGATE Kausani Observatory you can explore the universe in depth with the equipment used by the professionals. It is a private Observatory and a gateway to the knowledge of the galaxy.
You can easily explore the celestial planet or objects like the moon, nebulas, star clusters, constellations, distant galaxies and many more.

Rudradhari Falls & Caves
Rudradhari waterfalls are another heartwarming place to visit in Kausani. It is only 12 kilometers far from the town Kausani.
When I reached there, I felt like it was a kind of fairy tale. Natural beauty at it’s best. Lush green pine forest and waterfalls with caves look really mesmerizing. Caves and Someshvar Temple can also be visited from the Rudradhari waterfalls.

Baijnath Temple: Perfect Display Of Glorious Past
Only 16 kilometers far from the Kausani and in the same district the Baijnath Temple is located within the group of eight temple clusters. Kausani hills and mountains are beautifully visible from the temple.
The Baijnath Temple is an epic example of India's rich architecture and spiritual Approach. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and built by King Katyuri in 1150 A.D.

Kausani Tea Estate
Kausani Tea Estate is one of Kausani natural heaven. I clearly remembered the lush green gardens of tea and the aroma of the gardens. I bet you can't ignore the beauty and pleasantness of the Kausani.

Girdhari keer

You can go inside the garden and take pictures there. If you are an organic tea lover then there is also a processed tea store in front of the tea Estate garden.

Pinnath: For A Scenic Trekking
And in the last for the trekking lovers, there is a trekking location in Kausani. It is situated only 5 kilometers from the main town.
It is best and suitable for the adventure lovers. I already have experience of trekking but as I told you in my previous articles I love adventure.
I have already decided to go trekking, because I have researched about it on the internet.

Next destination/ Conclusion
Traveling made your mind fresh and excited. My next destination was Almora and Bhimtal. In the Bhimtal I have done something extraordinary. Stay with me in my journey to the best visiting destinations of India.
I will make sure that you all will feel the same feeling which I have experienced throughout the journey.

Girdhari Keer : Travel to Ranikhet

Girdhari keer

Girdhari Keer : Travel to Ranikhet

Nainital was my first stop of a five days trip to the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand province. After staying at Nainital for two days I was ready to explore another exotic destination which was the famous Ranikhet. I have heard about it many times from my friends. I have also seen the beauty of it in the Bollywood movies.

Well, Nainital was so beautiful and it gave me lifelong memories which I will always remember. One more thing about me is that I do every adventure that is available at the destination where I visit.
I wake up in the morning before 6 ‘o’ clock because I always wanted to enjoy the mornings at the beautiful and exotic places like Nainital. The Lake was only 5 minutes away from the hotel where I was staying so I walked towards the lake. The morning weather at any hill station is way more amazing and pleasant than any other time.
Taxi driver Rohit was waiting for me outside the hotel, he already told me that we have to drive toward Ranikhet early in the morning.

Journey to Ranikhet

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do”
Travelling to the exotic places and exploring new landscapes has always been my dream. It was an amazing 2 hour journey from Nainital to Ranikhet. There is an idiom, I don’t know the origin but I liked it, “The way to destination is way more beautiful than the destination itself.”

girdhari keer
Girdhari Keer

My journey to Ranikhet has started from Nainital and I was completely enjoying the view of up and down hills, the greenery, exotic locations and single smooth road. I already told Rohit to stop wherever he finds better attractions and a good place for breakfast.
I have to rely on him because he knows better than me about that place and also he was a good guy. There were many turns on the hill which excited me a lot but also frightened me at the same time. I bet you can not close your eyes when travelling through hills and sharp turns of valley.
I wanted to close my eyes for some time but I  couldn’t because of fear.

Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham

As I have already told the cab driver to stop at some nice place so we could have breakfast. So, after approximately 20 kilometers Rohit stopped the taxi and told me that you can have breakfast here and also visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham which is a nice Hindu temple in the valley.
Girdhari keer
Girdhari keer at Neem Karoli Baba

I had Aaloo Parathe for breakfast, which is my personal favorite. I have also clicked some nice pictures there and visited the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham. The weather was very pleasant and the sunlight was giving me an amazing feeling of mind, peace and excitement. If any of you are planning to visit Ranikhet from Nainital then I extremely recommend you to visit this place, it is very peaceful and beautiful to visit.
We continued our journey to Ranikhet through the exotic and amazing foothills of Himalayas. Actually Nainital and the nearby places of it are known as foothills of Himalayas.

Frog Point

Have you ever gone to a place which has a beautiful foot bridge on a small river with little water and all this in between two hills. The hills around it make it more attractive and pleasing to see. We have stopped at a place in between two hills and I was seeing this beautiful bridge on the river. I couldn’t wait myself, so I went on the bridge and enjoyed the cool breeze and nice fragrance of flowing river water.

Girdhari Keer

For those who don’t know about the air quality of hills, guys you must have at least experienced it for one time. The air quality of the hill and environment is really pure without any pollution and toxic materials. That is the reason that people from there are much stronger and live longer lives.
I asked Rohit about the place where we were that time and he replied, this place is known as Frog Point. I was a little confused by his reply because another question arose and that was “why?”. He added that big rock in the middle of the river which looked exactly like a frog from a distance.
There was really a frog shaped rock and something was written on that. I clicked some pictures there and we moved on to Ranikhet.

Ranikhet

Finally after three hour including the breakfast time and stoppage time we had arrived at Ranikhet. I have heard so much about Ranikhet and also seen the beauty of it in many Bollywood movies and documentaries.

Girdhari Keer

It was one of my dream destinations which I wanted to curiously visit. I told Rohit to take me to the places and locations where Hindi movies were filmed. As I told you he was a good lad so he took me to the actual places where many Bollywood movies and songs were filmed.
I was really happy to see the attractions at Ranikhet; they were eye catching and unforgettable. The forest of pine trees, where typical Hindi songs have been filmed. And where actors and actresses running in the jungle for songs. I have also taken photos there and then we moved to another destination at Ranikhet.

The golf ground of Ranikhet

I have never been to a proper golf ground before my visit to Ranikhet. It was really lush green grass and beautiful landscape which was approximately 4 to 5 hectares. I took a little walk on the golf ground and clicked some memorable pictures there.

The Ranikhet golf ground is the highest golf course in Asia continental.

Conclusion
Ranikhet is really a place of greenery and long pine trees which attracts every traveler from around the world. The literal meaning of Ranikhet is “Queen's Meadow”. If you are planning to go to north India and specially Uttarakhand state then I recommend you should visit Ranikhet and nearby attractions.

I have tried to explain my journey to Ranikhet from Nainital in very simple language. I hope you find it useful and if you have already visited there please share your experience in the comment below.

Girdhari Keer : Travel to Nainital

girdhari keer

Girdhari Keer : Travel to Nainital
After packing my bags up I was ready to explore my first destination which was Nainital. I chose Nainital because I have heard so much about Nainital and nearby places. I was very much excited about my first solo trip.
I had already booked my ticket online and also got the printed copy of them with me. Nainital does not have a railway station because there is no railway route to nainital. But we can take a train till Kathgodam which is really close to Nainital. There is a connecting train from Chittorgarh to Kathgodam.
So, I took a bus to Chittorgarh and got into the train from Chittorgarh. From Ajmer I changed trains because from there I had to take Ranikhet Express till Kathgodam. It was a 15 hours trip so I was really tired when I stepped out at Kathgodam. The time was 5 ‘O’ clock so I had to wait there for sunrise.
Then I needed a taxi for three days because this was my first tour to Nainital and I didn’t want any hectic in my mind on my first tour. Well if you are going in a group then you can take the bus from Kathgodam to Nainital. Bus will be cheaper than renting a taxi.

Journey from Kathgodam to Nainital
It was an hour long journey from Kathgodam to Nainital. The distance from Kathgodam to Nainital is only 35 Kilometers but the road is very tricky and dangerous all the way. Long time has passed since I have been to a place like this. The way to Nainital from Kathgodam was amazing and mesmerizing.
The scenery and the valley looked beautiful and heartwarming, so I started to take pictures of it. The biggest advantage of getting a taxi is that you can stop and check out the places which you can’t if you don’t rent a taxi. I asked him (Taxi Driver) his name and he told me that he was Rohit.

nainital
Way to Nainital

I told Rohit to stop the taxi on a sharp turn above the beautiful valley, a beautiful river flowing downside the valley. There was a little shop called Maggi and the name of the shop was Maggi Point. I don’t like the maggi very much but at that place with an astonishing environment I told the shopkeeper to make two maggi.
Rohit and I eat that maggi and continue our journey to Nainital which was not so far from the maggi point.

Finally I was at Nainital
Rohit stopped in front of a guest house which was really cheap because I have already told rohit to get me to the cheapest hotel. It was only Rs350 per person and the guest house was also in very good condition. I mean it was not bad as the price of the guest house.
I will recommend you guys if you are going with your friends or alone then you should search for the cheap hotels because there are many. But if you are travelling with family and kids then you should book hotels in advance because it's tough work to do.
I took a hot bath and made myself comfortable with the environment of Nainital. Then I started exploring nearby famous places and attractions of Nainital. Let’s have a quick look at those places which you should also visit whenever you plan to trip Nainital.

Nainital Lake
The weather was very pleasant that day and Rohit told me that you are lucky because people wait for weeks for this kind of weather. It was really sunny and little fog outside which made it even more exciting.
Nainital Lake was the very first thing for which I was excited throughout the way to Nainital. I told Rohit that I had a plan of staying in Nainital for two days so what places we could explore here. I gave him the list of attractions which I have researched on the internet and told him that these places we would definitely visit.
Nainital Lake was at the top of the list and also the nearest place of attraction from the hotel I was staying at. When we reached Nainital Lake the view of the Lake was amazing and as excited as I was thinking. There were many boats in the lake for tourists and I also wanted to go boating in the Nainital Lake. But Rohit (Taxi driver) told me that I would be more excited if you go boating in the evening we should go for nearby places instead.
And he was right because I enjoyed the boating in the evening and that was really fabulous. The price of the boating from one side to another was 200 per person at that time.

The Himalayan View (Snow view point)

girdhari keer
Girdhari keer at Himalayan view, Nainital

The Himalayan view point which is also known as snow view point was the second place that I visited. The beauty of the hills from the lake to Himalayan view point was heart touching. I started wishing that I could live here for longer.
Many film actors and directors came here to Nainital for filming. There were also many famous places where famous films and songs were shooted. When I reached the Himalayan view point and it was in the morning a few people were there setting up their telescope for tourists. I asked one of them the price and went for it. It cost me only Rs100 for six different angle views of Himalaya and nearby hills.
I also took pictures of the lush green hills. I told Rohit to take my picture because he was the only person with me, but I must say he was a nice person and he helped me a lot to make it a great trip of my life.

Girdhari keer

Rohit stopped the taxi at one place where many people were enjoying the beauty of the hill and nature. I asked him that what is that place, and he told me that this place is known as Lovers point and also suicide point because a couple died here.

The Tiffin Top

Girdhari keer

As we discussed earlier, I had already researched the attractions and beautiful places of the Nainital on the internet. So, I told rohit that I wanted to visit Tiffin Top and he agreed because it was really close to where we were that time.

If you have time then you should also check out the place. It has a great view from the top of a hill. Then we moved forward to Tiffin Top and I didn’t have any idea that we had to take horses to go on top.
On the way to Tiffin Top we stopped at a place from there we can see very large and beautiful smoggy area. I took many pictures at that smoggy place called smog point.

girdhari keer

Smoggy Point, Nainital

Guys if you want to visit Tiffin Top at Nainital then you have to take a horse from the down of the hill otherwise you have to take a walk of more than 3 kilometers. Well, I am a hardcore adventure and I do every adventure on every place that I visit. So, I decided to take a horse from there. You know there is a horse union just like taxi unions and other vehicle unions. They charged me Rs700 for the horse and it was a great ride.
Finally I reached Tiffin Top and the view of the Nainital city and the lake from the Tiffin Top was mind blowing. I fell in love with Nainital and the beauty of it. I took many photos there and also made a video of horse riding. Horse keeper made a video of me because I told him to do so, he was a nice person.

Naina Peak

Naina peak girdhari keer
Naina Peak, Nainital

Naina peak is situated at the top side of the Nainital Lake. This is the only place from where you can take that ideal picture of Nainital lake which we have been seeing everywhere.
Naina peak is just a sharp turn for taking pictures and nothing more than that. I ate American corn there with lime and salt all over it. It was really delicious and was only because of the place with cool breeze.

Naina Devi Temple
My next destination for the Nainital tour was Naina Devi Temple which was situated at the opposite side of the lake from where I was staying. So, I took the boat ride from the one side to Naina Devi temple.

Girdhari keer
Girdhari keer at Nainital Lake

You know because of the temple, the lake and the city known as Nainital. The experience of the boat ride was also amazing and there were many boats in the lake. I only booked the boat for one side ride because I had already planned one more attraction to see.
After 15 or twenty minutes of boat ride I reached Naina Devi temple. There were thousands of fishes in the lake and many people feeding them for their good luck. I also bought some food for them and threw it in the lake.
Then there was a little fair outside the temple where I bought some toys for the kids and moved forward to my next attraction.

Mall Road Nainital
Nainital is one of India’s most visited tourist attractions. That is the reason why many companies and franchises opened their outlets in the Nainital. The mall road of the Nainital is a very luxurious and developed area. You will find every luxurious and top brands of clothes line, shoes, watches, foods, fast foods and many more.
I took a walk from the Naina Devi temple to the hotel via Mall road area. The showrooms and market there were highly exclusive and seemed expensive also. I had a nice dinner at the Mallroad area and then got to rest in the hotel room. That day was really fantastic and I had enjoyed it at the coolest.

Conclusion
This was the first stop of my five day tour. If you are planning to visit Nainital you must take a boat ride in the lake and horse ride to the Tiffin point. I hope this article helps you in planning for the Nainital trip with family or friends.

Girdhari Keer : Prologue

GIRDHARI KEER : PROLOGUE

Hello guys, my name is Girdhari Keer and my friends calls me "Griezz" now days. I am just like all the average Indian guys. And also just like all of them, I wanted to became a successful person someday. it seems the day will taken more time to come then it should be. I have completed my schooling from the hometown shuffling among a few schools.
After completing my high school I went to get a Bachelor of Computer Application degree 50 miles away from my hometown.
So, I have to spend three years in a college hostel and those days I think were the best days of my life.

Perception of Life
I wanted to be a good man and I also made efforts to do so. But it does not work well in every situation. We have to work hard and even harder to achieve the desirable goals. Then I also do a little research on the good man. Some questions that always occur to me are just like, “What is a good man?”, “What is the definition of a good man?”
“What is a good man?” The question seems legit from many points of view but not clearly answered anywhere. There is no proper definition of a good man.

A sophisticated Journey
I have been travelling for a really long time and I'm not tired yet. You know that if we do something good for ourselves, we just increase the desire more.

Here in this blog I have decided to share some of my good memories with you and I will do it one by one. For the past few years I have been quite busy and have not got that much time for my passion. The reason behind the title is that I have been good to all in every journey of my travelling, even in life.

I have spent two years in Jaipur (The pink city) Capital of Rajasthan. It’s been a great experience of my life and I can’t forget it. It helps me grow via both emotional and physical. I was in a web development and software development company. My designation was senior search engine optimization expert in the company at the time I left.

My perception towards life was not as clear as it should be. Ijust wanted fun and adventure and in my life and someone suggested to me that travelling is the best way to do it. So, I decided to travel often.
I was selected in the semi- government organisation which is the electricity department. I was not happy from the selection because I just want to stay in Jaipur and continue my job. But my family forced me to join here in this semi government organisation as Informatic Assistant.
I have been travelling before joining the government organisation and still travelling to the best places of India.
Let’s have a little look on the places I visit. Well this blog is created only for sharing the experience of my own while travelling through different places and situations.
